Setting up this site has taught me a few valuable lessons:
1. Always keep notes on what you are photographing.
As i load pictures to this new site, i am finding it difficult to remember or identify what I took pictures of. The butterflies are especially difficult since they were part of a live exhibit and represent species from all over the world. (And the exhibit had the butterfly names posted, which i could have easily taken a picture of.)
2. Choose your logo and picture layouts wisely.
While aesthetically, rounded edges on my pictures look great, this does mean i need to pull every photo into photoshop to put in the template. If you see my suddenly change to square corners, you will know I've gotten tired of opening up multiple programs to post-prod each image!
3. Have more than 2 'lessons' before you write a post on lessons.
OK - That is a blogging lesson, but still. Clearly, I began writing this because i was annoyed by the first two lessons, and realized those are the only two I have so far. I suspect this will be an ever growing list, so rather than being too hard on myself over lesson #3, I will just add to the list as i have more!
